Written based on true stories of the persecuted church, Shannon was honored to write six of the ten songs on the project entitled “Better Than Life.” The song “Count It All Joy” went on to have success at radio and is an encouragement to our hearts when walking through difficult trials.

Written for a project sponsored by Mission Network News and based on true accounts of the Persecuted Church around the world, Shannon wrote “These Scars” to tell the story of children who are enslaved in sex trafficking after being sold to witch doctors in their tribal community. Having been later rescued, their scars became a reminder to them of what Jesus did for them, rather than something to hide. A beautiful song for anyone scarred by life’s injustice and rescued by the King.

Written for the project “Better Than Life,” a project sponsored by Mission Network News in honor of the Persecuted Church worldwide, the song “My Heart Will Sing” was written by Shannon based on true accounts of women who have secretly given their lives to Christ in Muslim countries but would lose their lives if they were to tell anyone. A song of worship between their heart and their Savior, whom they secretly worship!
